Professor Gilbert is an eminent molecular Biologist and Nobel Laureate. He earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College, an M.A. in Physics from Harvard University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from Cambridge University. He has several honorary doctorates. At Harvard, he has been a Professor of Physics, of Biophysics, of Biochemistry, and of Biology, and also the American Cancer Society Professor of Molecular Biology. He is currently the Chair of the Harvard Society of Fellows. Professor Gilbert was a founder and the first CEO of Biogen. He is a founder and Director of Myriad Genetics and also is a Venture Capitalist.
