Charles Knowles is Professor of Surgical Research at Queen Mary University of London and Consultant Colorectal surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust. Professor Knowles is Director of the NIHR Enteric Healthcare Technology Cooperative, co-director of the National Centre for Bowel Research and Surgical Innovation, and Research lead to the Neurogastroenterology section of the British Society of Gastroenterology and Pelvic floor section of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland. He is on the editorial board of 3 journals and is the author of over 100 peer reviewed publications and 5 books.
